The Journey to Frankfort
In 1993, Miguel arrived in Frankfort with a dream and the recipes of generations past. Like many who've built their American dream from the ground up, he started small but with big ambitions.
Working in the restaurant industry from a young age in Mexico taught him more than just how to cook. He learned the value of hard work, the importance of fresh ingredients, and the magic that happens when food is made with love and respect for tradition.
Frankfort quickly came to know Miguel not just as a restaurateur, but as a neighbor, a friend, and a face you could count on at La Fiesta Grande (affectionately nicknamed "Mexican Monkey"), where he was a proud part-owner and learned the ins and outs of running a successful restaurant in Kentucky.

Miguel's is Born
After years of experience and dedication, Miguel and his partner Claudia made the bold decision to invest fully in Frankfort to become sole owners of their own business and bring their authentic vision to life.
In 2007, Miguel's Mexican Restaurant opened its doors on Versailles Road, just minutes from Interstate 64, bringing authentic Mexican food to families throughout Central Kentucky, and Frankfort gained more than just another restaurant. They gained a place where families gather, where celebrations happen, where the food tastes like it was made in someone's abuela's kitchen because it practically is.
From day one, Miguel and Claudia set out with a clear mission: to serve real Mexican food, prepared fresh daily, with seasonings and flavors that transport you straight to Mexico. No shortcuts. No compromises. Just authentic, delicious food made the way it should be.
